My name is Kendyl and I am the founder of Fearless Nail Art. Fearless Nail Art is a small subscription box business that started in January 2017 and has been dedicated to creating monthly unique themes for nail art lovers. We started as The Nailed It Box and have grown a lot as a business in the last few years. If you're patient enough to go back through our Instagram, you can actually see the progression that we have made because I haven't had the heart to archive or delete the pre-Fearless brand images on Instagram. I feel that it is important to keep those images because it shows how far we have come as a small business, and how we have changed for our customers.
My favorite part about running this business is a tie between being tagged in Instagram posts about a manicure and receiving heartfelt emails from customers who love their subscription. People only tend to send emails when they aren't satisfied with something, so getting happy emails is always a day-maker!
I am a 24 year old from a small town in Western Wisconsin. I graduated from the same high school that both my father and grandfather graduated from, but I wouldn't consider myself a small town gal. I completed my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in 2017, and am now close to finishing up a Master of Indigenous Studies (very different from nail art, right?) from the University of Tromsø, Norway. During my time in my at the UMN, I studied abroad in Oslo, Norway and I know this sounds cliche but it really changed my life. I met my boyfriend (who is Norwegian) while studying abroad and have been living in Norway for almost 2 years now. Next, I hope to get an MBA because running Fearless Nail Art has changed what I want to do with my future.
I started this business as a way to earn some money for student loans while I first started studied abroad in Norway, and it has grown into a job for me. Around the same time, my mom started her own subscription box and has taken up the physical part of the business for me while I am in Norway. I absolutely love doing this business, and I hope to keep doing it for years to come.
